Kelly’s furniture storage facility in Surrey is one of the most advanced in the UK moving industry. Newly constructed in 2007 it features the latest mobile platform technology to minimise handling and maximise space for greater cost efficiencies which are passed to our clients. The 55,000sq ft warehouse was purpose built for furniture storage and offers a safe and secure environment for customers valued effects. Other relevant features include high security perimeter fencing, advanced anti-intruder detection systems with 24hr CCTV and fire prevention.
How We Store Your Goods.
At this site we operate a containerised storage system using large wooden storage boxes with typical loading capacities of 7cubic meters (250 cubic feet). These storage containers are gently positioned around our warehouse with fork lift machines and can be loaded onto our own goods vehicles and brought to your door for loading. It’s an incredibly flexible system and you only pay for the number of containers actually used. The current rental cost of a single storage container is £14 per week, with a minimum charge period of 4 weeks. With typical internal dimensions of 149cm wide x 210cm long x 225cm high our storage containers can accommodate most types of household furniture including sofas, beds, sideboards, dressers etc. Items of unusual length (such as ladders, windsurfer booms, long carpets) can also be accommodated in specially allocated areas of our warehouse, costs vary according to size of the item.
How Many Storage Containers Will You Need?
Based on typical averages, the table below gives an approximate guide to the number of containers you might require for storage. For a more accurate assessment and advice just call us or send an email.
1 bed flat - between 1 & 2 containers. 2 bed flat - between 2 & 3 containers. 2 bed house - between 2 to 4 containers. 3 bed house between 3 to 6 containers. 4 bed house - between 5 to 8 containers.
How Do I Get My Furniture and Effects to Storage?
Options available for getting your goods into our furniture storage facility:
1) Fully managed removal where we come to your house, do all the packing, heavy lifting, stowing and transport your goods back to our warehouse.
2) Partially managed removal as above but you do the packing prior to our arrival. Packing materials can be purchased from Kelly’s if you don’t have any.
3) Self storage DIY removals where you bring goods to our warehouse using your own transport. We position the storage containers by the back doors of your vehicle eliminating long carries or walking up stairs.
